Prompt 1 (Diamond Kingdom): "Nightmare Rose Gardens"

Driven to an unknown kingdom, North wasn't sure what to expect. The lands were foreign, the people sparse, and the air just a little off.

After he recovered from the endless fall that landed him here, he figured it was best to just wander around, figure out what he could. Cautiously, he moved under cover until he found himself drawn to a garden. It was eerily dark, and roses dominated the foliage. Still, he pressed forwards, passing a sign that read "The roses need to be painted!" Accompanying this sign was a bucket of red paint with a brush settled inside it. Curious, he plucked the paint brush out and carried it with him. Once he neared the center of the garden, vines tore through the earth and trapped North inside. Hissing filled the air as, much to his disbelief, the roses grew in size and bore teeth, twisting left and right while whipping their deadly, thorned roots.

Remembering the sign which greeted him at the entrance said, he threw the paint dipped brush at the rose as a test. It screeched, then shriveled away as it's white petals were dyed. The kamishiba's eyes shined with an idea and he ran for the bucket at the entrance, avoiding the lashing vines. It had been a while since he last moved with such daring intent but he was left with no choice.

These roses could do a little more than just a prick to the paw.

As always, it's really exciting and is giving me a lot of inspiration for art haha. It's going to be a little bit of a stretch to complete the remaining prompts but I'll strive to get them all done somehow!

To kick things off, here's North having a little battle with a couple of roses. No need to get so serious with a few flowers buddy //hit
