Thanx! They are all studies of an actor who is very individual with a multitude of wonderful expressions, so it's natural that they all turn out quite differently, I think. I'm just trying to 'record' every visual aspect of Alan Rickman in my favourite role that he's done and adding my own emotional element to each 'recording' really.
You mean my process? Well, I do a basic line drawing, plotting just outlines of where the features, faceline and hair go (although this sounds simple, it's probably the part that takes me the longest!) Then when I'm sure the positions and proportions are right, I do a watercolour wash in a flesh colour, and black for the hair and my chosen background colour. Then it's just a case of bringing it all out in '3D' with my coloured pencils (the part I love most, as drawing is my first love.)
