"It took me a good while to finally figure it out.
Watching our people, and feeling myself writhe internally against the instinct to conquer, and instead reminding myself to do the right thing, was not easy.
But finally, while digging through old files left behind by Spork and Miyuki in the system of the Massive, I found in Spork's ID code that there was something I could not access.
A little blip on the radar, that simply booted me off the program every time I tried to access it, no matter how many different ways I tried.
I requested help, had teams of Irken technicians and computer scientists working around the clock to open it.
I couldn't tell you why I was so hellbent on opening it at the time; I just chalked it up to me being nosy and having to know everything, but deep down I knew it was important.
So we kept digging, for a whole of a week maybe, and when my team finally opened the server, what we found was purely unnerving.
Millions of unidentified, unknown codes in green showered the computers.
Many of them possessed icons of Spork's face, and had green Irken insignias splattered all over it.
We had to do a system cleanup and organize all the information, and by so doing we found that everything we were seeing led straight into our ID PAKs.
I was horrified, and remain so to this day.
It was a virus; he had poisoned us...
      Our people have always been militant.
In a universe full of strong races and peoples that lead in industrial service and ownership, war is bound to happen, thus soldiers are needed.
We have also always been very just in serving our leader, but suffice it to say we had one worth serving.
For as long as my, and perhaps the previous generation of Irkens can remember, Miyuki reined long and well.
Her combination of strength, benevolence, and sheer care spoke to us all.
The hardest of hearts found her irresistible, myself included.
I'm sad to say when she died, there wasn't much time to mourn her, as the Control Brains, unfeeling as they are, quickly selected a new Tallest.
Spork, a seeming raving lunatic with no leadership capability was selected randomly, though you can bet height had something to do with it, too.
He had the Vortians and the few Irken workers at Station 9 begin, and quickly finish, the build of the Massive, and sailed off on the gift that so rightfully belonged to Miyuki.
I can't imagine how the Vortians who built it must have felt, particularly Lard Nar.
As soon as that was done, Spork cut our contract with Vort, and began Operation Impending Doom.
He preached of war, trying to pull the attention of mourning people toward him, all while quietly designing a special software that would aid him in his dark bidding.
This software, we discovered, was something he named "Termin."
Termin was implemented by him, downloaded into the ID PAKs of every single Irken, and even slipped past the Control Brains.
It's quite cunning work, really.
I used to underestimate him, but now that I know better, I can see when it came to getting his way, he was very skilled.
The Termin virus crept in undetected by anyone, and made itself at home within us, corrupting us in just weeks.
It made us more self centered, destructive, and more driven to fight and seize the rights of others.
It tricked our minds and sealed up our hearts, coaxing us to detach from our emotions and see them as in-the-way or inferior.
We came to seek utter perfection, making us go so far as to believe that defects were like a cancer in our race, and needed to be removed.
Empathy left us.
The Irken people sought conquest, felt superior and as if every other race in the universe should bow to us.
And while we had always adored our Tallest, Miyuki earned our love and trust by being the great leader that she was.
When Spork designed and released Termin, he made sure to program it with the ability to turn our attention strictly on him, hence why we took little time to mourn Irk's greatest leader.
He demanded more attention and respect then than Red and Purple do now -- or at least, when they were ruling.
And thanks to Termin, in spite of his horrific plans and brutal nature, we all bowed to Spork, giving him our undivided admiration and unconditional servitude.
Even when he abused us, we believed that his actions were right.
And of course, Termin didn't vanish when Spork was eaten by the monster, as I stated earlier.
This virus locked itself in, unable to be reached or accessed, or even dug up.
And even though Spork had died, the virus continued to ensure that the Irken people devoted themselves to the Tallest without question.
So, when Red and Purple had to stand in Spork's place, after being raised by him for several years, Impending Doom continued, and Red and Purple truly believed they were doing the right thing.
    That software is gone now.
My team and I erased it, but not all at once.
It would have been too jarring for us all to strip it out suddenly, so we created a software of our own to slowly eat it over the course of several weeks.
We called it MLL, also known as, "Miyuki's Lasting Legacy."
Even with Termin gone, MLL still runs through the data base every now and again just to ensure that virus never returns.
And, though our PAKs are wiped of it now, some of us still feel conflicted over choosing between what's right, and an extinct influence to destroy.
Thankfully, it's a minority that still feel superior to everyone else, though this does mean there is still trouble out there.
With Termin gone, our people do not simply kneel to me on a whim.
I must earn trust and respect, as Miyuki had so done.
And as there is in ever civilization, there are those who don't agree with their leader.
There are resistances against me, and some Irkens have always seen other races as inferior.
That's just life, sadly.
Nothing will ever be perfect, but now that I know what happened to us, and what Spork truly did, I have a better understanding of how to cool these flame and mend what he has broken.
We still have the military, I still have guards, and I am looked up to my many.
I don't hold the slightest hope of ever being the leader Miyuki was, but as long as I can reverse some of the damage her followup did, then I have that peace.
As for Red and Purple and their arrogance, I don't think that can be helped.
They have never known differently, as far as I know, but I know they have hearts somewhere deep down.
Thanks to fate and whomever rules over it, a general balance can finally be restored."

No, it will never be perfect.
There will always be some level of chaos, some racism, superiority, uprising, resistances for one reason or another, and Zelle gets a lot of targets on her back.
There will be other races who still hate Irkens, Irkens who still hate them, etc, but in my pathological need for closure, i am ok with this bc the BIGGEST issues get tackled
I have to have SOME unrest, i don't like PERFECT perfectness
