"I've fallen so far...

I remember my best hauntings, and there you sat on your palace in the sky.

Watching me, the quiet presence I assumed smiled on my work.

I hadn't the slightest idea you could speak, or that you would someday conspire against me.

You're presence, your soft light made a floor for my shadows to dance on in the darkness.

There were even days where you would mysteriously block out the sun, casting superstition among the hearts of the mortals and feeding my cause.

Wolves sang to you, frightening all who heard.

Some came to fear you entirely.

As far as I knew, you were on my side.

You were my old friend.

        How could I have ever known, that it was you who chose those Guardians?

Toothiana, Sanderson, even the rabbit...

Only while meeting North did I learn that for hundreds of years, you'd been playing against me.

Blinding out my shadows with burning light, bringing one after the other until my image the world lost all together.

It burned, it blazed in my chest like a pain I'd not yet had to experience.

Like a scar, never fading, always bleeding in my heart.

        I used to think you were smiling at me, encouraging me, keeping me company.

I never felt alone; never had I ever wanted for a friend, or a companion, or one to talk to.

I had you.

How could I have been so blind?

Was your lunar existence too heavenly for me to see through?

Or were you leading me on cruelly, purposely letting me feel safe only to turn on me and watch it crumble?

I suppose it's true, that the moon has two faces, and that we can only ever see one of them~.

It was all I ever saw, but now I know better.

        They say birds of a feather flock.

For centuries, I thought we did so.

I realize now that I only ever saw my own feathers, as yours would only drift to earth in shades of green and gold, and not black like mine.

Now I understand how alone I truly am.

Hard as it is for me to say, it hurts beyond words to lose the friend I never had..."

As you all know i love Tsar, but Pitch is a very vengeful and shut-in person.
He takes things very personally, and even with an opportunity to understand he protested.
So some of this is his own fault, but it doesn't take any of the tragedy out of it.
Pitch is a tragic character~.

I think it broke his heart, when he found out that MiM chose the Guardians.
He felt like he was being replaced, even betrayed, though I'm sure he had opportunities to concede and try to use his powers for the greater good instead of just to feed himself.
If you go by Rufftoon's comics, you might know what I'm talking about.
But Pitch is stubborn and picky and doesn't like changes that drastic, and didn't want to be changed or forgotten -- something i think is very understandable.

I don't think of Pitch crying often, like -- at ALL, almost.
But I can see this hitting him at some point and just completely slugging his heart and just tearing him down for a short while, and it would probably make him very bitter and cold -- more so than he was already.
It hurts, losing a friend, especially when they hurt your feelings.
But i don't see Tsar as the villain by any means, and soon intend to elaborate on my head cannon for where i see him coming from...

For now, i have no real complaints!
I'm very pleased with this pic and used a Sprite bottle cap to get that perfect circle for the moon
As for the trees and such, this drawing is very reminiscent of a drawing i did of Snape a long time ago -- it was also Winter, was very somber and had ravens and black feathers, and the trees.
This art became a favorite in my family, and hangs in both mine and my dad's houses (he has a copy).
You can find it in my Harry Potter folder in my gallery i think.
