LOL! *beams* Sensei even! You're too funny This is true, that as a child you likely weren't happy to get a spanking, none of us were! LOL! But I'm sure that you also knew that you're parents were only doing so to protect you or to guide you in a better direction true? You never doubt that they didn't still love you even though they felt the need to punish you right?
As for my attraction to spanking, it has a lot to do with my own childhood and working out a lot of those feelings that would take way too long to explain! LOL! That said, I'm not 'in to' spanking children, but I don't disagree with it. I AM into spanking adults though mostly because there is a lot more capacity for learning and understanding between intentions and expectations. Adults know better even if they don't make the best choices and as such can be dealt with a little more harshly.
Spanking, for me, is more of a tough love scenario because the spanker cares enough to correct the spankee rather than to idlely sit by and watch them self destruct since they have proven that they can't seem to see reason or to help themselves.Β
There's also a sense of forgiveness once all is said and done (like a wiping the slate clean) where the spankee can have resolution, and of course get the much needed sense that they can move beyond the incident... Β in the end, the spanking should always be done for the betterment of the person... a breaking them down to build them back up so to speak.
I'm very much into the psychological side over the 'pain' of a spanking. The pain is just a catalyst, or a breaking point to push limits and mental boundaries to get the spankee to acknowledge consequences without cutting them away from the person giving the spanking. There is a sense of catharsis in tears (kind of like at the end of that movie Inside Out if you've seen that? I don't want to say too much if you haven't, but if you have, you might understand what I mean.)
Sorry if this got a bit long winded! 0o I hope it helps to understand what I take from a spanking and why I'm attracted to them... of course there are many other facets of it that I like that I'm sure I could gush about, but I will cut the topic there! LOL!Β

RIGHT, i loved that he was mute. Like it was kind of random, I've never heard of that before about Sandman, but I loved the idea. He's very patient considering.Β

As far as I recall Pitch only copied Sandy... I do not think they are opposites.
Love the concept though! I always thought that evil and good have to be in balance.

Oh no. Β This is why I love the BlackSand pairing; polar opposites, and the idea of each one being poison to the other, but also necessary for balance to be maintained, quite appeals to me.
You know, much as Pitch scared children in his movie version, I was never afraid of him.  And Sandy⦠it's great that Joyce revealed that it's canon for Sandy never to speak much.  It's not that he can't but rather he chooses not to.  I picture Sandy standing half as tall as Pitch, but Sandy flying around on a cloud of dream sand is more common than seeing Pitch do the same on a Nightmare.
You did this wonderfully, and I like your little story behind it too.

Right? Β In another universe, where the Guardians recognize the value of a little fear and dolling out nightmares to bad children to make them behave, Pitch would be their greatest ally. Β That doesn't mean he wouldn't be the dark and dramatic, but also conflicted and confused, being we know him as in book/movie canon. Β It just means that he wouldn't be as eager to tip the scales in his favor.
Ironically, in the yin-yang symbol for Taoist philosophy/quasi-religion, the black 'yin' represents the feminine, shadow and essential evil whereas the white 'yang' is the masculine, light and essential goodness. Β People who are gender-bending Pitch when they put him in pictures in Sandy may have the right idea.

Well, that sounds interesting. Β I was learning Taoist doctrine when I was in a Chinese history class, learning some impossible questions for contemplation from Lao-Tzu, the founder. Β I learned the yin as the black part and "essential evil", but that doesn't mean I believe fully in the evil part. Β I have identified women who show a lot of out-going, righteous yang qualities, and I prefer men with quiet, mysterious yin qualities. Β It's all about balance.
