I admit I'm one of those people that mainly believes in things science can prove and not much else (it's not as if the things we do with science and science itself weren't exciting enough for my life already) but I always love hearing of other peoples believes as long as they don't try to force them on you (one of the reasons I grew rather distasteful of Christianity) since I also think that we don't exactly have prove that it is wrong or, as J.K.Rowling wrote "Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?".
I also know that believe is powerful, no matter in what way you view it, weather you look at it's power to influence people or believe it capable of creating spirits, the fact stays that it can be devastating in the wrong hands and mindset.

Yea, I think it's mainly that we live in a Christian country (in Germany to a lesser degree than in the US but the principle stays) whilst being somewhat critical of religion in general (Whether this be through Atheism or believing in more than just Christianity) so we are mostly shown things done by our culture which for a long time meant by "our" religion by extension so we see the crime that has been and still is being committed in the name of it more clearly than what has been done by others.
Add to that that Christianity, or at lest quite a few Christians has been relatively aggressive and oppressing, mostly in history but some of it still lingers and that it is regarded the "proper" or "good" religion in US media (or at least that's the vibe I get from what I've heard and seen) which is exported and talked about in most of the world as well as the fact that it's easy to find stories about extremists that, for example, still vehemently deny Evolution and you've got yourself a nice mix of denial about the harm they've caused along with elitism which, on the long run, is annoying as heck.
Yes, in the good it can mean uniting people to stand up against oppression, making those suffering feel better and helping them to overcome whatever is troubling them (support groups, friends/family that support you)an in the bad it can mean things like witchhunts (not just the medieval ones but rather the pattern of ignorance, believe-whether in religion or otherwise-and distrust which turns into hate and violence-both verbal and physical-reappearing through history) and huge populations denying the facts in favor of a lie much nicer to look at or beneficial for the ones in power (the middle ages and the 18th century colonization/Human trafficking are prime examples as is the delusion that America is a post-racial society) and that's just looking at the more mundane and taking a few good examples.

You're certainly not alone, and this is yet another amazing entity you have given life to.
One of my beliefs is, well, belief feeds the creation or entities, much like in the RotG movie. It doesn't just give them the ability to be seen or heard, but it gives them life.
Amazing piece as always!

You know why he did not speak with you? He has words only for the dead. You are not at the point where you need to hear his words to escape the darkness of the void that lost souls plunge into without him.Β
I don't know why I thought of this in such a way, but it seems understandable.
And hey, nice art!

It makes sense, though.
I'm not dying, thus i wouldn't need him comfort.
Considering i know where you stand for the most part on this stuff...that comment really means a lot.
Thank you :") *hugs*

I think the art is exceptionally beautiful :3
Since I think that anything can be possible, if not here then somewhere, I already feel in awe of this spirit. And at the same time as I wish I could meet him (I love those kind, quiet spirits who take care of and manage things in life and nature), a part of me likes not quite knowing. Plus, I don't want to meddle with things I may not be able to handle.
I can completely picture him frolicking (if that's the right word) and racing through snowy fields and forests. Winter may be a cold time, where my feet and hands turn to ice cubes and I get bumps on my skin from a cold intolerance, I still love the season. Everything is so beautiful, like nature is sleeping under a gentle white blanket.
Edit: Whoops, needed to edit a spelling error!

Right!
The spirits that regulate our world, and all things that we understand in part but not all the way, are so so beautiful and it's so fun to not know :"3
Winter is one of my favorite months.
Snow is gorgeous and fun to play in, and the fact that snow is such a quiet precipitation makes it that much more eerie and, for me, very emotional.
My old dog Spike died a few years ago, but when he was alive he loved to plow through the snow.
Every Winter i pray for some safe snow, just to be able to imagine my beloved, passed on friend playing and, as you said, frolicking.
I like to imagine this great elk running, his big flat hooves flopping about but him still somehow carrying a grace.
