I had followed my herd of deers into the White Forest. That wonderful landscape that been said to be the place that hides the Soul Pool. My whole village told me to not go into thei forest alone, so I followed their suggestions and went with around twenty deers. Not only passing that sacred area, also running with the herd of deers made me excited. A young roebuck was always on my side. I remmebered him well, he was one of the youngsters that had tested their courage on approaching me. He got his first antlers and he had grown so much already. I was proud as I woul dbe his father! my own son had been grown as well. he was an intelligent male, but so independend I rarely saw him. He didn't need any help from my side, he never asked me anything and he prefered his freedom in the wilderness. We were so different and so equal at the same time it was slightly spooky.
The herd had pastured a while and decided to move on. Instead of just running away, one deer was looking right at me, right into my soul. We should move on she told me and the young roebock suddenly appeared on my side. I coudln't resist to smile as we all started to run tougether again. Lose snow was flying around us, the forest hadn't been so peaceful in my imagination, but I'm sure it was thanks to the herd of deers. We run down a hillside and started a race. Who would reach the flat area as first? Starting to speed up I got a bit advantage, but the uneven ground and the thick snow blanket was hard for me to estimate the perfect path. The young roebock easily jupmed over hidden roots and stones, as he could see through the snow. //Show off!// I barked, he gave me a look and started to speed up even more. I gie in all my remaining power to at least reach the finish line at the same time like himself. I was exhausted.
Lowering my head to gain breath, he watched me - still enough stamina to do it again or at least it looks like this. The other deers arrived one after another and I sat down to recover and just watch them as usual. I can't tell you, why watching this herd was making me so happy. It was something that came straight from my heart. Walking through this herd warmth my whole soul. The White Forest started to thin out as we move on. The young roebock was still walking in front of me and sometimes he checked if I was still on his heels or already lost. Than he stopped in front of a cave. A blue shine seem to came out of it and I was a bit curious if we would enter it. I took a step closer, to give it a look, but the roebock blocked my path. His face told me it's not the time to move on now... but somewhere in teh future it would be the place I need to go...
