I love it.

You even remembered the faint hint of green hues that were described emitting from it in the Mountains of Madness. Many people completely miss that detail altogether.

yeah, the green is a focal point for me...anytime i've imagined a shoggoth, it's just an oily, rolling black mass of pseudopods and mimicked body parts. I figure they'd have the eyes of their former masters, but also probably some octopoid ones thrown in over the millennia.
