Description My wife spent a little time this past Fall (2005) doing some leisure writing on some kind of role-play forum dedicated to Robert Jordan's series of fantasy books. I can't remember the name of the series right now, but I know I didn't like it--I only read the first three and got thoroughly bored with them, although the whole collar-control idea they had was very intriguing to me. My wife decided to write/play as one of these collared people, and to encourage her to relax and have fun with it, I offered to draw scenes from her role-playing entries. Unfortunately, her experience there didn't work out, and the main storyline she was working on was never finished, although it was fun to read. I made two pencil drawings of what occured before the other person participating in it quit (leaving my wife hanging). I made two more in an effort to finish the storyline sufficiently, and I'll put those up later. This description is long enough already, so I'll tell what I know of the storyline in the second of these first two installments...

It was the Wheel of Time, an interesting series of books though unfortunately the writer died before he could finish, he did have extensive notes and had chosen a writer (a friend who was also a writer) to finish for him, as he realized he was unwell.

I enjoyed the series, it taking most of my youth/adulthood to finish reading.

But it was a long novel series and a few novels in the middle were slower than some people enjoyed.

Still, I "personally" think you've done a fine job illustrating here, and you might enjoy giving the series another go.

Thanks! Yeah, I checked into it a bit--I've read some other Brandon Sanderson books that I liked. Someday, maybe...

The brighter the light, the darker the shadows.
Je heller das Licht, desto dunkler die Schatten.
Waat d'Liicht méi hell ass, emsou méi donkel sin d'Schieter.
Plus la lumière est claire, plus les ombres sont foncées.
Quo clarius lumen, eo obscuriores umbrae.
Dess sterkare lyset er, dess mørkare vert skuggane.
Guangxian yue liang, yingzi yue an.
Jo stærkere lyset, desto mørkere skygger.
Kuluma yazeed al dhau sawaad al dhulu yazeed.
Što je svetlo jače, senke su tamnije.
Quanto mais clara é a luz, mais escura é a sombra.
Hoe feller het licht des te donkerder de schaduw.
Hoe feller it ljoch hoe tjusterder it skaad.
Com més clara és la llum, més fosques són les ombres.

Wonderful depth of field in this. And I like how you've allowed the woman and rocks to commandier such a great portion of the composition, very dynamic and beautifully drawn.

Thanks a ton. Two more finished ones to put up (in a few days). If these images spark some ideas for others in a similar vein, let me know (unless you want to draw them yourself--you have some very cool fantasy drawings in your gallery). --Faile35
