This is for my wonderful friend !!!! Crona's older here. Probably 16-17 years old.

I really love Crona!!! He is my favorite character from the show! He is such a sweetheart! I just.... adore him!!! I swear I feel him like a real person. Propably because I feel sorry for his past and what kid of family he has. That's why my character loves him so much and tries so hard to see him happy!

As you can see, it's a boy here.

NOTE : I know exactly what is going on in the manga, but from what I've heard from the fandom they refer Crona as both a girl and a boy. So the Manga doesn't count in here.

The reasons he is a boy in the Anime are:

1) The body type and the face. If you notice his, face doesn't have any girly characteristics such as cilia (Maka, Patty, Liz and Tsubaki have them). He wears a robe and there's the illusion that he has female curves. It's because he is too skinny and the shape of the pelvis can be seen. The fact that he wears a robe makes people believe that he has female curves because the legs are not very well shown. If you notice in the episode 31-32 he was wearing a athletic form or a shirt. Those "curves" were dissapeared. Not even the chest is shown. Also in episode 22 in that scene (in which many people believe think that he acts girly) it's shown that his legs are too thin to be a girl's. And I think that either a boy or a girl would act this way if other people were looking at them in that situation.

2) The fact that there are no wizards (male witches). Free doesn't count as a wizard. He is a magic creature/werewolf, but not a wizard. What I am gonna say is a theory. Medusa probably felt embarrassed for having a son who is a common mortal. So, she was dressing him like a girl (which explains why he was wearing a little witch dress when he was little) and made him act girly. She put Ragnarok inside him and tried to make Crona the new Demon God, but failed. To sum up, she wanted to have a daughter, but she had a son and she couldn't do anything. (Probably that's the reason she says "My child" instead of "My son" or "My daughter".

3) The fact that Ragnarok is male (Don't deny it. ). Wouldn't it be a little weird if you were a girl and had a jerk/pervert inside your body? As Ragnarok is made from Crona's blood, then Crona's a guy because of the DNA.

4) The relationship with Maka. There are many episodes about those two. In episode 7 (Crona's first appearance) during his fight with Maka, he said to Ragnarok "I am not good at talking to girls" and blushed. Not to mention this scene
in which he was still blushing and it looked like an almost kiss. There are many episodes in which he was blushing because of Maka. It is obvious that the whole Maka/Crona relationship wouldn't make sense if Crona was a girl. Just think

about it.

5) The Japanese version. They use male pronouns. A perfect example is in episode 15 in which he said "Ne shiteru boku no chi wa kuroi da" to Kid which means "Hey look, my blood's black". (僕) "Boku" is only for males and mostly by young males to people older than oneself or around the same age. This is a rule about the Japanese pronouns. If he was a girl, then why didn't he say (私) "watashi" which is about both sexes?

6) The name. I really wanted to make a research about this as the Gorgon family seems to be Greek (Greece's my country and that's the reason I wanted to find out about this. Medusa/Médousa (Μέδουσα) was a creature from the Ancient greek mythology. She was a monster called Gorgon (Γοργόνα) and had snakes instead of hair. Gazing directly upon her would turn onlookers to stone. She was killed by the hero Perseus. Let's talk about Arachne (Αράχνη). She was a mortal and a great weaver who boasted that her skill was greater than that of Athena, goddess of wisdom, weaving, and strategy. Ιn Soul Eater universe, you can see that in Arachne's house there were greek columns and amphorae. The whole situation made me see if Crona's name had a relation with the Greek mythology. It is known that crona/kurona ( クロナ) in Japanese means "The dark one" so I made a research in a similar ancient greek name "Cronus" (Κρόνος). Ηe was the leader and the youngest of the first generation of Titans. He was the son of Gaia and Uranus. Cronus attacked and killed his father and because of that they named him "The Dark one". I'm not gonna say the whole story here. So according to that research Crona was named after a male person.

7) The dubbing. I don't rely on that, but there are some versions of Soul Eater which call him a "he".

That's my research up to now! What I wrote is the reason I will NEVER call Crona a girl!
I will always see him as a boy!

( I've seen that some people call him "Genderless". How is that even possible???? Hermaphrodite would make more sense, but I hate that option as well. )

Please leave a polite comment and don't come and judge me unless you have proved that Crona's a girl. Like I said, the manga doesn't count as they call him either a boy or girl there.
