~Hot Chocolate and Kisses~

You were walking peacefully surrounded by the white winter wonderland, pairs of steps marking the path you’ve passed. Everything was so nice, calm, quiet, pulling you out of the stressful week you’ve had so far. You pushed the earbuds further into your ears, increasing the volume of the song playing. The atmosphere was so pleasant you just let your imagination get the best out of you.

“Watch out!” screamed someone in panic behind you, but you couldn’t hear them well because of the music. You turned slowly right before, out of the blue, you were blinded, a strange feeling of freezing hitting your face. You let out a strange sound while covering your face with the gloved hands.

“What the hell was that?” you asked angrily while whipping the snow away from your face. “Who did this?” you shouted while trying to adjust to seeing again, looking for the surprise attacker.

“I am so terribly sorry! I didn’t mean to. I.. I am so sorry..” a young lad with light brown hair, a pale complex and dark blue eyes was standing in front of you. “I thought you were someone else… I feel so bad now.” He left his head down, covering his face in shame.

“That’s what you do to your friends, hit them with snow when you see them?” you giggled trying to break the ice a little bit. “It’s okay, really. Don’t worry. Apologies accepted” The guy smiled at you, still embarrassed.

“May I ask you to join me for a hot cup of chocolate to show you how sorry I am? If that’s okay with you, of course. I promise to treat you with the best beverage you’ve ever drunk!” A soft chuckle left your lips at his enthusiasm. As soon as you accepted his kind offer, he grabbed your hand tightly and dragged you on the pathway you were already walking on.

You walked together for some minutes and the young stranger seemed to never stop talking. It felt a little weird the way he was holding your hand in his in a tight grip, like he was afraid someone might come and sweep you off your feet, then run with you. Nodding from time to time at his stories, different thoughts appeared and started roaming around your mind. Maybe following this complete stranger for a cup of hot chocolate wasn’t the best idea.

“Soo, what’s your name?” You managed to finally ask him.

“Oh, how rude of me not to introduce myself! I am Lokki Losnedahl at your service.” He motioned a little bow and smiled brightly. “And you are, my dear?”

“[Y/N], it’s a pleasure.”

“Oh.. [y/n].. Such a nice name. It rings into my ears!”

As Lokki started rambling on again, a wooden house appeared in your sight. It was a two floored one, surrounded by a pretty spacious yard. As you were getting closer, you wondered what the chances were for you to turn around and run, or make an excuse to leave. Especially after he told you about the four brothers he was living with. Comparing to them, Lokki sounded like such a gentleman and great person. You gulped as the two of you finally arrived at the front door.

“Here’s where I live. I’m home alone at the moment, I hope it’s not a problem.” He invited you inside and closed the door behind you. “Egil is probably out hunting with Thurston. And don’t ask me about Markel or Bernard. They could be ANYWHERE.” He gestured with his hands while leading you to the living room. “Please make yourself comfortable. I will go bring us some steamy mugs of hot chocolate.

As Loki left to prepare the beverages, you started observing the home. It looked really lovely and welcoming in comparison to what you’ve imagined. No sharp weapons, no heads of animals, no nothing. Just a pretty modern living room with IKEA furniture. While contemplating the nice decorations you heard a loud breaking sound coming from the kitchen and Lokki letting out a loud shriek.

“Are you alright there, Lokki?” you ran into the kitchen to find him agitating his hand up and down. “Oh, damn. You burnt your hand!”

“Don’t you think I know that?” he said still waving his hand.

“Let me see.” You grabbed his wrist and took a look at it. “Damn that’s nasty… Don’t move!” You took some ice from his fridge and wrapped it around his hand carefully with a towel. “Okay, keep pressing here. I know it hurts, but it’s only a little bit of a burn.”

He reached for your hand and held it in his for a few seconds, his eyes meeting yours.

“Thank you.. I..I..I.. am so so clumsy lately.” He gripped it a little bit stronger. “Everything seems to just go wrong lately.” He let go your hand and dropped on the kitchen floor, with such a worried expression on his face. It might have been just an impulse, but you sat next to him and wrapped your arms around him. He shivered a bit at your touch, but he responded, hugging you back and leaning his head on your shoulder. “Sorry…”

“Lokki! There’s nothing to be worried about! Stupid things happen to anyone! And you shouldn’t let that bring you down.” You cupped his face so he could be looking at you. “I might know you only for an hour, but you seem so decent, so nice. I can’t let you feel like garbage, because I’m sure you don’t deserve it.” In less than a second he came closer and gave you a quick peck on your lips. You could see him panicking after this, and before he would say sorry again, you grabbed him and kissed him deeper, your hands brushing against his back.

“Sorry… I don’t know what has gotten into me.” It was your time to apologize.

“Well, that was… unexpected…” Lokki said before going in for another kiss. His shyness from earlier went away with every smooch he gave you. You kept exchanging either quick cute pecks, either longer, more passionate.

You placed your lips softly on his one more time, giving him one of the sweetest kisses you could share. Your heart was pounding really fast, but you didn’t care. Right now, you were feeling on cloud nine. Lokki grinned before slowly brushing some hair from your face, than kissed your forehead. He wanted to continue going down on you, but something made you giggle and Lokki stopped. “Is everything alright?” he inquired raising an eyebrow.

“Oh, dear… Yes, everything is fine.” You finally got up from the floor, helping him as well. “It’s just I’ve never been through such an adventure before. It felt so intense. And I really want to get to know you better before anything goes further.”

“I think that would be terrific!” He grabbed your hand in his and gently kissed your cheek, before leading you to the couch where you both sat.

He chuckled and put an arm behind your shoulders. “How about I walk you back home and you tell me more about yourself. Maybe stop at a café for a hot chocolate finally.” You laughed and hugged him. You left a sigh when he responded positively, holding you tight in such a loving way. What was drawing you towards this mysterious guy, you couldn’t put a finger on. Maybe you feared him for the wrong reasons. Or maybe it was that impulse that got the best of you.

Suddenly the door opened and both of you let go.

“Wow, Big Brother, you go get some!” Came an obnoxious voice as your eyes locked with red ones. The young man shut the door behind him and made his way to the couch, plopping between you and Lokki. “Although, I think it would be a waste of time and experience to go out with this guy.” He addressed to you, trying to scoop his arm around your shoulder, when Lokki stood straight up and grabbed your wrist, making you sit up as well.

“Sorry, Egil, we are in kind of a hurry. I’ll catch up with you later.” And with that he left the house, taking your coats on your way out.

“So… Hot chocolate?” He asked bashfully trying to distract your attention from what happened earlier.

“Hot chocolate it is!” You kissed his cheek and intertwined your fingers with his, before finally leaving for your destination.
