this might be the very first time i hear someone from western, to say that to me,
or at least that's what i know

because the reason they wear hijab is to "save" their beauty,
keep it unseen from anyone, only for their husband, later, after married,
so, in islamic rule, dating is actually doesn't work,
i mean, how can you date someone that refuse to be touched and hide their beauty until marriage?
but there is no compulsion in religion
so there's still muslim that also date and not wearing hijab,
it is their choice

I understand that you probably don't get much talk from westerners in this way. My Islamic friends cover up but I have seen some women who do not and I thought because that is their free-will right?
See my father is not a westerner by blood, his family was from all over, the east, the west, over seas, north, south, all over.
He accepts all people, I think he just gets along with everyone and truly knows how to spread human moralities greatly.
So I grew up by his side, I try to understand everyone, and too me and him, we understand why the women must cover themselves. It makes sense, I know that men do it to, I'm not blind, they wear clothing which hides their manliness right? It's to keep yourself sacred for that special someone. Maybe I'm just getting ahead of myself hahaha.
But really like us westerners don't have any of that, they just go to that person, go to the next, nothing sacred about it here!
