I have a usually very strict policy of never working for free on request, but this time (ONLY this time) I let it slide for one of my coworkers, who wanted me to draw something for our boss on the envelope that she was putting gift cards for him in. I'm grateful the guy hired me, so that's why I'm doing this, but remember; if you have ANY self respect as an artist...NEVER, EVER, EVER WORK FOR FREE! (Unless you seriously, 100% want to do so with all of your heart.)
In truth, I didn't want to do this at all, but I thought 'Well, he did hire me which was nice of him' so here we go. My coworker wanted me to draw him a stupid truck. Since I passionately hate drawing vehicles (BAD Rosy!), I asked if he liked anything else and so I learned that he has a basset hound cross. Hopefully, he can appreciate the fact that this is not shitty art, even if I did accidentally smudge it because I haven't worked in ink for a while. I tried to work with the smudging and make it look more on purpose but... well I doubt that worked! XD
Anyway... here's a jolly old basset hound enjoying the season!
