Description
*****EDIT 2015/04/05*****

I ran the one-shot last night, and it went extremely well! The players had fun, I had to riffle through my notes for a bit too long sometimes, but otherwise had no problems. This bodes well for me hosting an actual campaign of whatever in the future! I added three NPCs to the end of the picture (and the list) for you to enjoy.

*****EDIT 2015/04/05*****

I've been a D&D player for a while now, but what I really want to do is DM.
I guess. Maybe. I guess I'll get a better idea after I run this one-shot soon.
In the interest of speeding things up and making things easier for people not familiar with the rules, I pre-genned some characters for them to choose from! I tried to cover a broad range of classes, races, personalities, play styles, etc. So that everyone has a good chance of being able to pick someone they'll enjoy playing.

And since I am me, I had to draw them.

ASH: Neutral Half-orc Ranger (Hunter)
She was a soldier most of her life, mostly fighting in wars against orcs and goblins. Being a half-orc herself, she had to be double-zealous in battle to convince the higher-ups of her loyalty. Now that we're in times of relative peace, she has took up adventuring to keep kicking asses.

Dominic: Chaotic Good Half-Elf Fighter (Battle Master)
He used to be a star tamer in the circus... but he left to pursue greater challenges - or possibly because no one could stand his self-important attitude. Depends on who you ask.

Lien: Neutral Good Wood Elf Warlock (Archfey patron, Pact of the Chain)
She doesn't talk much, but it seems she saved her home village from an orcish invasion by forging a pact with fairies. Now she enjoys exploring, discovering new dangers and treasures.

Pardi: Neutral Forest Gnome Wizard (School of Illusion)
Up until somewhat recently, she was a student at magic school... but she was more concerned with having fun with friends (playing roleplaying games, maybe?) than studying. She cheated a lot to pass her exams. She still prefers to trick her way past problems than face them head-on.

Pwyll: Chaotic Neutral Human Druid (Circle of the Moon)
Nobody quite remembers when he joined the party, nor who invited him in the first place. His constant nonsensical mumbling and poor hygiene are tolerated because of his occasional usefulness.

Rando: Chaotic Good Mountain Dwarf Sorcerer (Wild Magic)
He used to train to be a warrior, but his alchemist dad recruited him as a lab assistant instead. He wasn't very good, and caused a freak accident which, luckily, granted him magic powers. After that, he quit and decided to become living artillery instead!

Sam: Lawful Evil Lightfoot Halfling Rogue (Thief)
Living in the halfling ghetto of a big human city, he noticed that the big folk paid no attention to them and their poverty. So he took up stealing... a lot. Still the tall ones never suspected a lowly halfling of all these crimes.

Vador: Lawful Neutral Tiefling Paladin (Oath of Vengeance)
He was raised by the temple of Nemesis, after his entire family was condemned as devil worshippers. He grew up with the conviction that evil should be brutally punished, and left to enforce that belief.

**added 2015/04/05**
Zenda: The cleric of the group, she was kidnapped from her room at the inn and taken to a spooky mansion. She's a healing machine and everyone's metaphorical big sister. The quest was to rescue her - cause a party without its healer isn't a proper party!

Fredegar: The owner of the mansion and kidnapper of Zenda. He's not evil, just totally insane. The voices in his head tell him to do things... may or may not be a vampire.

Gratteux: Fredegar's long-suffering butler. Doesn't actually object to his boss's doings, as long as he gets paid.

Rando Dwarf mages are awesome. Also, Chaotic Good may be quite fun ^_^

A campaign run by you? That would be amazing! I haven't been able to find a good group on roll20 since my very first one there. (And that was woefully disbanded due to lack of attendance from the players) If you do decide to DM a game, drop me a line!

Ah, well, if I do run a campaign, it's more likely to be in person, haha.

So that giant toothy floating mouth is just an illusion? What a waste. If you use her again, I insist that you find a way for her to conjure genuine Langoliers.

(Nice designs!)

That seems a bit much for a level 3 Wizard

If you don't mind talking about it, what do you think of 5th edition? I haven't played it yet.

It's good! Back to the roots in all the good ways, but with more modern streamlining and attention to character backstory/motivations. Definitely less mmorpg-esque than 4th ed, and less fiddly than 4th or 3rd ed. Pretty much my only complaint is how much downside there is to multiclassing, but since there are several paths and choices WITHIN each class, that's not even such a big deal.

Quite like Pwyll's backstory. I may use that someday in a campaign.

Aw, man, I would've loved to participate in a campain DM'd by you. *o* There are no good RPers where I live, so I haven't been able to do any proper RPing in forever. TnT

Haha, I don't know if I'm any good yet! I haven't done this since high school

Surely there are SOME good roleplay people in your area Have you tried online resources to find them? Like Obsidian Portal maybe?

Well, you're good with story telling, so I have no doubt you'll do well.

I do a lot of online RPing - I run a large online RP on another forum I'm a member of - but I do miss the good old fashioned pen and paper stuff. Especially Call of Cthulhu! As far as I know, there aren't any proper experienced RPers in the town I live in, unfortunately.

Obsidian Portal? This I have never heard of. I must google this.

The first thing that I thought when I saw the dwarf was: "And the Dwarf, with the power of pointing at things."
Loved that magic mouth.
