If they modified the SR-71 blackbird to today's standers, I bet the US military would still be using it

Undoubtedly the aircraft still has no peer, even with the technical advances today. The last I checked, quite a few of the records the Blackbird set are still standing. And unless I'm much mistaken, there is still no air defense system that can take one down. The chief issue is cost, since there are several platforms that can do the same job for a significantly lower cost. Worst of all, Lockheed was forced to destroy the dies to make the critical parts, so there is no way to repair the few remaining aircraft that still exist.

I think I have 3 shots of it as Deviations. I took some shots at the museum a while back, due mainly to Enterprise being moved. I have some good ones if you care to check them out.
