Description
This is actually the second Fae drawing I've done. I'll hopefully get the first one up soon but my laptop's broken so I had to nick my mum's for a bit to get this up in time for the end of Mermay.
.....she's a water lady and you can't see her bottom half....she's basically a mermaid.
I've got two more planned in this mini series, might even do some more after that, but I can't keep stealing my mum's laptop to edit and upload so it might be a while before I can show off any more paintings. I plan to use only three colours for each watercolour painting, for this I used Daler-Rowney's Green Gold, Indigo and Permanent Mauve.
I was planning to come back to DeviantART in the middle of May but then I had laptop troubles, I've also been in the process of moving back in with my mum. So I guess I'll be back once the laptop's fixed? Then you can see my new paintings.

Scotland's got a bit of a weird idea of what a fairy is, they don't often have wings and 'Fairyland' often overlaps with 'Underworld.' Which means brownies, banshees, winged flower fairies, ghosts, werewolves, vampires, mermaids, demons, witches and nature spirits all get a bit...blurred.
Really just anything from the 'Otherworld' can count as a fairy....not just the silly Victorian tutu butterfly girls. However I do realise that people have a set idea of what a fairy is and I'll start to confuse people if I use that word.
I also can't really call them the Aos Sà because that's a bit too specific and limiting. Shee is too similar to an already used common word. Sìth has been claimed by StarWars.
So I guess I'm going with Fae....people looking for winged girls hopefully won't know it and because of all the supernatural teen romances out there the word's stopped meaning....well, fairies.

P.S. Her face has been heavily Photoshopped, normally I just correct colours and remove dirt but this time....I'd more or less destroyed the paper underneath from painting her face over and over again.....I need to learn how to do faces in watercolour.
At some point I'll do a blog post showing the painting process and you can see how often I removed and repainted her face.
