Good-bye DeviantART!I have no desire to be a part of this community any longer. The new staff deleted 30 of my Teen Titans art saying that I violated their copyright rules eventhough I clearly stated "Teen Titans © DC Comics". I gave credit to the music artists who wrote the lyrics I used to enhance my pictures. Do they really expect us to send letters to the creators and get official permission before we create art? That's ridiculous.
Their new idea of lowering censorship and cutting back on fanart is really pushing my nerves. I will not stand with a site like that any longer. So porn has taken priority over art? Does that make any sense at all?
My art did not deserve to be deleted, especially since a few of the deleted pieces were of my own characters! Original artwork does not need more copyright than "© FallenRose24". What else am I suppose to do? It's original! It was designed by me! Do I need professional permission from myself?
This website has always been covered in a dark cloud and I knew that one day I would be driven to the point where I would leave. Kicking out Jark merely started the lightening. The corrputed and ludicrous policies of this website are what's burning it to the ground.
DeviantART is the most well organized art community I have ever come across and so it pains me to leave it, but it hurts me more to watch my art be unfairly deleted. I'm not even that popular of an artist and yet my gallery is torn apart. Why am I to suffer this while other artists draw similar art and have them remain untouched? I know that sounds selfish, but I simply do not think it is fair.
For all of you telling me to complain to the staff, please understand my reasons for not doing so. Even if I complain, I won't be able to get back what mattered. Everyone's thoughts on my work when they first saw it, the emotions that went through them because of what I created; that is lost. DevaintART can never give that back to me. They took what was not theirs to take!
It's the principle of the thing. Why was my other work deleted? How could my original work have a copyright violation? And now the only way to keep things from being deleted is to disallow comments and favorites on music videos? That's not what this site should be about. The community feel and tolerance of all art types this site used to have is gone. I refuse to stay and watch artwork that I worked so hard on be deleted unjustly.
Art is freedom, not injustice.
DeviantART is on the verge of falling and if it does, I will feel no sorrow.
You asked for a picture of Raven in a straight jacket. If this is not what you wanted, I will draw another for you.
To all of those who have encouraged me with your comments, I thank you. I am truly sorry for leaving you all like this. It pains me to leave you all, but I will not support such a corrupt system any longer. Please remember that I will still be here to comment on your work and respond to messages. I will not abandon you, I'm abandoning the injustice.

that is absolutley terrible. dA has gone completely insane. i can completely understand your reasoning for leaving and i support you for it. but i, and as it seems all of the others, will miss you and your art dearly. 
well, you better keep drawing. :wink: and hey, maybe you'll find a good new art community, and recomend it to all of us.

Yes I did and they wouldn't give me a straight answer. I will tell you all their reasoning for deleting my art once I establish a new gallery.

I have to agree fully with your decision to leave, seeing that i would probably do the same thing, and I have abandoned message boards and many other sites before due to things like this. I really dont like to see you go, you are one of the best artists i've found on this site, and believe me I spend alot of time fooling around on here ^_^... Anyway, it really agrivates me to see another good artist being discouraged by idiotic policies that really make abolutly no sence.... Over the last few years I've seen so many writers, artists and even roleplayers disappear because of things like this, and to this day it still upsets me.
Anyway, I seem to be babbling here, but I was just wondering if there was anywhere else you would be posting your art so I can still wander off and find it somewhere... I would hate to think there wouldnt be anything else...
On a totally off topic side note, for any of you who care, in the near future, if i have enough people who are interested, me and a friend are planning on opening a PHP site that would be a strictly fandom based site. Fanart, fanfictions, AMV's, the like... its not really anywhere at the moment, but i would love to see you there when it starts up... For now, we're using ezboard, and the url can be found on my profile, but the whole point of opening this site is to stop foolish things like this from happening... Like the fact that fanfiction.net has started deleting songfics, because of copywrite things.. even if there is a proper disclaimer... should this not mean that all those lyrics sites out there should be taken down as well?....
Okay I am sooo sorry I'm rambling like this, you probably dont even care, but I am so bloody sick of seeing things like this happen... It seems to me those of us who use the internet for things other than porn and hacking are constantly getting targeted... *twitch* but ANYWAY... I really like this piece, as i do all of your work...

Your website idea interests me. I really do hope it grows into a large community like this one since you seem to have a good head on your shoulders. I agree with you about the use of lyrics. Why should some my art be torn down because of it, even though some deletions had original lyrics and others with lyrics remain in my gallery? Why are lyrics websites still allowed to run if the copyright scare is the reasoning?

I just realized I never answered your question about where I'm going to be posting me art. As of right now, I'm building a gallery at SheezyART, but that website seems to be having errors every two seconds so it makes it kinda difficult to post art when the site keeps going down. If you have any art site you know of that is as decent in organization as DevART or SheeezyART, please let me know.

To be completely honest, the only site I know of that keeps their fanart decently organized is Mediaminer.org but, well, thats not a very big site at all... well it is, but the fanbase there isnt as large as other places... And theres always that Okek. site on Titans Go, but i think you know about that already.. ^^ Hrm... I've been looking around alot lately, having to much time on my hands not working, and if i manage to find something I'll let you know.. ^_^

u have been one of my fav artists even b4 i joined DA. i feel terrible for what happened to ur art. they were all excellent and ive never seen u not give credit to the creators with ur fan art. its true what eveyone is saying about DA. it really has gone to the dogs. i will miss u and ur art greatly. once you've created a new website to post ur art make sure to post it so all ur obbsessive fans (waves flag) can see and go there. ^__^

oh dear.. why are they doing this to you do they have a grude against you.. i had a problem with copyright violation a long time ago when i first joined DA. they took down the dolls that i had made but i suppose i can understand that cus i didnt link bk in the desription box but did on the pic.. but fanart! how can they do that! its "fan"art... and they took down origanal art too.. whats DA comeing too..

Oh my..... I can't believe they would do that. You're art is amazing, and they had no right to take it down! I understand your reason for leaving. I'll miss you though. I know I never talked to you before, but I've been a fan of your art for awhile. It's crazy that they'd just delete them like that! I'm sorry you're leaving, but I respect your desicion. I'll miss you very much, even though I've never really gotten to know you well. I love your art, and it is SO upsetting to see you go! You have been such a magnificent idol and inspiration, I just can't put it all in words. You're an amazing artist, and all of your deviantations are/were outstanding! What happened to your art is extremely unfair. DevArt is certainly acting bitchy! I can't believe that I may never be able to see any of your art again. I pray that you'll still be using your artistic talent, even if none of it shall be posted up here! If there's any way for me to see any of your new art, I would love it if you PMed me. (I think I might actually cry right now.

*sniff* does that mean that you are to never draw again??? i think i will cry, you're art is beautiful and should not be deleted, i would love to see more art from you and since you are leaving, doesn that mean i will never see any more art from you??? this truley saddens me, because i love you're art! its amazing and beautiful. is there another website with art that anyone can submit? like an anti-deviantART? i hope so, because i think i would like that better.

It was totally wrong of whoever did it to delete all those deviations, especially when it's clealy labelled 'fanart' and has all the copyright stuff.
I can only hope, however unlikely it is, that you stay, or if not, one day return.
