I'm seriously giving all of the credit to the Charcoal paper... ever since I began using it, I've just fallen in love with how easy it is to manipulate textures on it. (especially hair with Charcoal, because that was always difficult).

3 hours. I'm working on a process video for it right now... I recorded most of my work on it last night. So that will be available soon.

Wah~~~ How do you shade the hair? I can never get it right.... and you make it look sooo easy

I think all of my diejungs fanart really pushed my ability to draw hair. It's definitely a challenge! I consider hair to be almost half of the woes of drawing portraits... (the other half is sustaining proportions).

But, I think hair is also fun because it's the small details (like highlights and flyaway strands) that make it look real.

I'm attempting to draw Suho from the Mama era and the hair is seriously dragging me down....

It's definitely hard... too much texture makes it worse.

The easiest thing for me to tell people is to 1) no matter how tedious it seems, always move your pencil in the same direction the hair goes. 2) use graphite or charcoal that's easier to erase, so soft leads like 4B, 6B because even if you avoid highlights, it's always good to go and erase highlights back in. 3) do section by section of hair... sketch the whole thing first, but then really develop each area little by little so that you're not overwhelmed by the overall look... usually if you do that, by the time you're done, it's come together on it's own or you can go in and make minor adjustments until it all works as one.

If you ever watch my process videos, I always do it section by section.
