I finished my great-horned owl costume today! Here's a shot of me in the mask--without the finishing touches like my hair, which I plan on fixing in a way that sticks up for "owl horns"--but I am wearing my feather earrings. I got impatient for you guys to see it! I also made a short cloak that looks kind of feathery... I'll put up a complete costume pic later.

Mask materials: plaster for the basic shape supplemented with papier mache (and cardboard for the beak), acrylic paint (eyes and under the feathers), felt (for additional shaping and fitting), and real feathers! I gathered some from my neighbor's chicken coop, hehehe. Drilling the eye holes was the hardest part.
