It’s a good thing I'm not the Pope/the American President/Bill Gates or you might find yourself trying to recreate this under some large ceiling. For me it has the mechanical aspects of a clock, the cosmic feel of the universe, while remaining somehow spiritual.

Could this be recreated on a large overhead flat surface?

I'm willing to bet it could. If a painter had enough technical skill, they would certainly be able to, though it would probably lose many details in the process. ^_^ If I were to render it large enough, I suppose what could be done is it could be projected on the ceiling . . . the details would be easy to copy that way, though it'd be tedious. Ah . . . I wish I had a faster computer.

Actually, it's not a sketch, it's fractal art . . . a mathematically generated picture. But I'm happy you like it!
