Quick portrait study of today. Tried a new technique where I started with color and used values to get the most out of it by turning it back into b/w - strange I know.... Started also with a photoreference but intentionally altered it in a way that it does not look like that person anymore. If you find the reference I´ve worked from you get a postcard set - seriously!
Photoshop CC, Wacom Cintiq, ca. 1,5 hrs.

Hi, I don't recall the actual brushes used, it might be just a round brush for the hair and the border looks like it was from Anthony Jones brush pack back then. He might have it still around his Gumroad. I hope this helps.

totally agree, and it´s interesting how a randomly developed portrait can look like it would be directly drawn from a celebrity shot
