When his consciousness began to unfold into the bleak landscape, the Traveler thought he had erred in setting the coordinates, but as he stilled his mind he became aware of the immense power and energy feeding into the silence. The pulsating light of the orb revealed a myriad of fractures in the fabric of space-time, and he suddenly knew, with absolute certainty, that this remote desert on this small, insignificant planet near the edge of the spiral arm was fundamental to the transdimensional web of interconnectivity between all sentient beings in the galaxy.
