It was somewhat miserable getting this shot. I was out in a wooded area taking test shots with my digital so I could then take the shot with my film camera. Well I didn't realize that mosquitoes were out this late in the year. The bites are just beginning to go away
Still cannot wait for fall.

I love the focus on the leaves and how you made it black and white. It gives it a nice feel.
If it was fall, I would want to see the colors, but I'm guessing it was still green.

Thanks! I'm actually doing a black and white film course. It's almost like a polar opposite from digital I'm finding. Sure is helping me to broaden my knowledge though

Thanks very much! It's pretty cool so far. Starting with the extreme basics which is kind of boring, but it's kind of nice to get all the information in case I missed anything when just goofing around with it. Actually got to develop film last week

Yeah, he's been talking a lot about shutter speed and the aperture and getting the right exposure. He's gone through some of the basic rules and talked about the importance of tripods. He also went over depth of field and showed us some of the basics of Photoshop CS4. I made a large smiley face.
I'm actually getting used to using a Mac, which is kind of odd seeing as I have an intense dislike towards them.

Sounds pretty cool! We've been going over some of the same things except even more basic since it's all with film. A little annoying at times but she's sort of evening out the boring stuff with some of the cool film stuff. Like we spent quite a while shooting 5 shots of a black sheet, 5 shots of a gray sheet, and 5 shots of a white sheet

I'm sure once you guys get past all of that really basic stuff the course will be totally awesome.
Macs are too user friendly, that's one of the reasons why I dislike them so much and why it's scaring me that I'm starting to think that they aren't all that bad. Then again by the end of each class I always tell myself that I can't wait to get home and use a proper computer. Windows.

hahaha exactly. The one thing that I do like is there's quite a bit of useful freeware that is available for the mac that isn't for the windows, like certain video converters. But yes, they made it too polished for someone who actually knows how to use a computer, I like actually being able to change certain command lines and stuff and not have to have a special app, like I recently found out I would need on a mac
