Description What do we see in the eyes of children...?

------------

I used [link] by *deathbycanon-stock as a reference for this drawing. It was such a beautiful image, the moment I saw the thumbnail I knew I wanted to do a sketch of this

It's the first picture in my new sketchbook, which I bought the other day along with a pack of new pencils as a treat for myself. I never realised that pencils could go up to 9B, but I definitely know it has made all the difference

Details:
- Size is 15x35 cm
- used 2H pencil to do outline.
- Shading done using 3B, 4B, 7B, 8B and 9B derwent-brand pencils
- I started this on Monday afternoon (23 July) and added last touches today (26 July).
- Scanned in two halves and put together in pspX. Boarder added in pspX.

I much rather be able to sketch like you than to take a great photo. To me, that's more talented! So beautiful Jo!

Jo it is beautiful!!! I love graphite drawings. Before I picked up a camera that was my creative outlet. I miss it sometimes but I'm not very patent. I'm sort of hooked on that instant gratification of a digital camera now.

Thanks hun! I can understand needing patience to draw, it can take me ages to finish less-inspirational pieces and there are even times I scrunch up paper just because it's taking so long. But even though I prefer to do digital work (much quicker than hours of drawing ) I can't help but draw sometimes. Sometimes I wish I could use a camera, I am so jealous of people like you who can take nice photos!!

Thanks hun I've always worked basically with 2H to 6B pencils and was really surprised when I found a set going up to 9B! Definitely enjoyed being able to add more depth in the shadows with it It's almost to the point I've wondered what I have been missing out on all these years!!

Thanks for the too!!
