Now I'm not the hugest MLP:FiM fan, but I do really dig the art style. It's cute, it's fun, and it leaves so many options for creating your own character and making something unique but still recognizable. That being said, I decided to draw my own pony, just for fun. I'm not totally sold on her name or cutie mark (especially since you'll probably need this little blurb to even know what it is) but it's the first thing that came to mind and what I kept going back to. The cutie mark is 3 irises of 3 different colors. The brown and green ones, to me, represent the way my eye color changes depending on the environment and stuff. The purple is the inner iris, or third eye, or (more scientifically/neurologically) the Pineal gland. I've always been fascinated with eyes and the concept of a "third eye". I'm not gonna get in to it but it really is interesting stuff! Especially when you study the Pineal gland and it's mysterious functions in our brains. Maybe someday I'll polish off this pony and make a character reference sheet or whatever, but for now I was just having fun experimenting with techniques and drawing a pony for the first time.
