Tribute to one of the best series of all time.
I drew this after watching "The Southern Raiders". I didn't have a real reference to the costumes so i just tried to do it from memory.
I have to say that the finale was fantabulous. Very sad too. Another great show off the air.
But I saw this somewhere and it made me smile: "Don't be sad because it's over. Smile because it happened." Wise words.Anyways, Zuko's body sort of... huge. Compared to katara, anyways. But yeah, they're still a great team up.
I will always be an Avatard.

I just picked up the first disc of season 1, and I have to say I dug it. As always, your shading is perfect. I think the highlights in Zuko's hair are my favorite part of this pic, but you always have this kinda warm, smooth shading that makes me envious.
He has tiny, sissy girl hands, though

If you hadn't already noticed, Zuko is an Emo momma's boy who's been spoiled rotten, so of course he has little girl hands.

Nice pic. I loved the finale on it. It was perfect! No complaints at all. I wish producers on other series would learn something from Avatar and perhaps stop making the overabundance of dreg on the air.

Definitely! God, I miss quality cartoons. Sigh... The only alternative is anime (no way in hell is THAT gonna happen!). Well, actually I used to be an anime fan along with my best friend, but he crossed the line from fan to whackjob so I kinda lost any attraction to it. lol.

i know... the tube is full of all this shitty anime that is warping young peeps minds into thinking that it's actually GOOD.
i have to agree though... i used to be a huge anime fan. But only the good ones... Cowboy Bebop.... fullmetal alchemist... some deathnote now... and a lot of manga. But western comics/shows contrast so greatly with them that it was hard to get into them at first, but after Justice League and reading Batman:Hush i pulled a 180. i didn't know i was missing so much good stuff.

As for Avatar, ive only watched a few episodes and it seems like a great series indeed. I think i can relate to how you feel when something you love watching ends coz that's exactly how i felt when they stopped maling Samurai X.

4 episodes? i think there were 3-4 seasons of Samurai X. There was also the movie (which was poor). But my faves are the minimovies where the story of how he got his trademark X scar and the one that told the story of how he and Tomoe died. Great stuff!

While Naruto uses more of a western feel to the animation, Samurai X has the classic anime look to it. Dated but still awesome by today's standards.

Is that the show where the characters bend light and rain and stuff. I've seen it a few times but not quite grasped the essence of it, probably because it's one of those shows you need to follow fairly religiously. I refuse to watch Heroes or Lost until I watch the series in order, and the older those series become, the less likely I'll get into them because then it's too much work.
Anyway, moving on. I must confess, I couldn't relate your characters to the cartoon series as I've watched it so seldom and couldn't tell you who was who. I remember a bald child and a white creature that flew, and your characters I cannot place for the life of me. From an arty point of view, your people are very dynamic in their actions, they have the expressions of a warrior and the aggression of a jungle cat. I wouldn't like to cross these folks in a dark alley or a public burdened open stadium whilst the Olympics were playing out.
What I like about your drawing is the simplicity you have employed. This is not as complex as some of the images I've seen you produce here on DA, but it is certainly effective.
