Not at all, it's a really refreshing change from digital tonal work. It's also a lot less complicated. Sometimes digital tones just look awkward because of the amount of different coloured "shadows" used.

Interesting. I actually tried to get rid of the shading in Gimp before colouring, resulting in a sort of hybrid, I suppose. It's not intentional at all.
