Hey, man. I'm a big fan of your work, I really wanna emulate your style. What books and tools helped you hone your art skillz? I, for one, have been trying to master that walk cycle up there and am having a hell of a time. Also, are you still working on the game? Any help will be greatly appreciated! thx

Hi there! thanks for the kind words! For animation references, you can't do better than real life. Don't rotoscope ( draw over live images) but use them as templates to exaggerate. look at a fashion show strut if you want to emulate something forceful and sassy. I think I actually based this off of Bayonetta's walk cycle, but that was undoubtedly based on a runway walk. The easiest way to draw movement and have it be fluid in my opinion is to draw the extreme differences in the pose, so for a walk cycle try drawing the crossing pose ( where your legs make a figure 4 sorta), one leg extended entirely, and finally the other leg extended entirely. Then you work backwards, filling in the pieces to achieve as fluid a motion as you need. remember arms do the opposite of legs, shoulders do the opposite of hips. This game has unfortunately been shelved for the time being, my real job does not provide enough time for me to do this plus that plus art. I'm working on something else smaller now tho, so hopefully I will have that finished soon. ^_^ I hope this is helpful!

The cycle is a little fast, shot in 1's or 2's? I suggest a few more frames thrown in to slow it down a little. Other than that it looks great!

agreed. I think it'll have to do, i'm hopeful that at about half resolution it'll look a little nicer. Hand animating a second correctly would be 30 frames, this is just 10 ^_^;; but thanks for the support!

I'm not sure! As of right now this is one of the few finished ones. there are scrolling BGs and some more basic stuff. If I could do flash i think I'd probably mess with more animation. As it is hand done stuff takes forever ^_^;;
