What a small world, mister faustsketcher. It's so small, it scares me. I say this because there's a "Grave of the Fireflies" vibe on this picture, from mine view: a movie I hold dear. I loved this art very much.

I'd say, have clear what you want to draw, and always draw the perspective if you're not too confident with BGs, also use solid shapes like cubes, and such, to plan it, and then, as if it was stone, crave them into the shape you want like if you were makeing an sculpture. it helps alot to visualize it and then detail it.
