Description I was hard-pressed to find an original golem idea, to be quite honest. Wood, Stone, Gold, and even Diamond have been proposed both here on dA and on the MC forums at least once. I eventually thought about the Dispenser Golem that ~RedPanda7 came up with, and at the same time of a Nether golem that shoots stuff because we need a long-ranged skeleton equivalent in the Nether. And then it hit me, a Netherbrick golem that shoots fireballs! Because Netherrack is so easy to get, I substituted Netherbrick instead to make it more expensive and thus more balanced.
I couldn't texture the furnace in-game, unfortunately, don't know how just yet. So just imagine the Netherbrick furnace texture in the assembly diagrams. And I also need a better texture for the furnace... Probably something like the Netherbrick Golem's head, perhaps?

Netherbrick Furnace
Tired of having to return to the Overworld to cook stuff while Nether traveling? Now you can place eight Netherbrick blocks in a circle on the Crafting Table, which also makes a great way to smelt any metallic ores that may turn up in the Nether someday. Netherbrick Furnaces use the same fuel as normal furnaces (wood, charcoal, coal, etc.). Because Netherrack and Nether Brick have inherent thermal properties, a single unit of fuel will cook or smelt twice as many items in a Netherbrick Furnace as in a normal Furnace, at the cost of taking twice as long to cook or smelt per item.

Netherbrick Golem
Alignment: Hostile (wild), Utility (crafted)

Drops: 4-5 Netherbrick blocks
Experience: 0
It's said that some mobs just want to watch the world burn, though when the person who coined that phrase say that, this one was probably not what he had in mind. Netherbrick Golems are the sentries of Nether Fortresses, and their presence - usually marked by the spontaneous ignition of your hair - is often the first sign of such structures being nearby. Hostile varieties have a menacing red glow inside their heads, and they can spot you from 50 blocks away, often sniping you with Blaze-style fireballs from a similar distance. They can also turn their heads completely around, allowing them to fire from any direction, and they can even see through walls! This makes up for the fact that even when aggro'd, their top speed is only the same as an Iron Golem's walking speed.
If you want to cook hostile mobs trying to break into your house, you can create a Netherbrick Golem for yourself by placing a Pumpkin or Jack o' Lantern on top of a Netherbrick Furnace (you might need to use two expendable blocks to help, though, as seen in the pictures above). Distinguished by a yellow glow instead of red, these friendly golems will shoot at any hostile mob within 50 blocks of themselves - even Creepers, since they're so far away that they don't have to worry about a point-blank explosion.
Despite the incendiary exponent a Netherbrick Golem can no doubt bring, there are four critical disadvantages to owning one. The first of course is that this mob is much too slow for travelling or transport and is best for players staying in one particular place. The second is that anything, ANYTHING their projectiles hit will burst into flames, and putting them in the wrong place can cause massive fires. Third, neutral or aggressive mobs hit by the Golem will automatically become hostile towards the golem and will target it regardless of distance. And lastly, this mob does not have any melee attacks whatsoever. So if a Netherbrick Golem shoots any fire-resistant mobs like Zombie Pigmen, it's in serious trouble.

If put in the overworld, they can surround your obsidian fortress and make it impervious to attack.
