Description 4/10 EDIT: Added a unique drop!

You know those ideas that come to you so fast, you just have to figuratively put them on paper before they go? This was one of them. The End needs a true hostile mob, as the Enderman is technically considered neutral and the Enderdragon is a boss. So here you go, a speculative candidate for Mojang's next annoyance and a new source for Ender Eyes.

Enderstare
Alignment: Hostile
Health: 10 (5x )
Damage: 1 (easy), 2 (normal), 4 (hard)
Spawn: Overworld or The End (light level of 7 or less)
Drops: 2-3 Ender Charges, 0-1 Eye of Ender
Experience: 5
The Enderstare is the End's answer to the Blaze. Its main body is a giant eyeball the size of a player's head; orbiting it are four smaller eyeballs to help it see through solid blocks and even pumpkin hats. In battle, it is capable of shooting purple Ender Pearls at a rapid pace, up to four at a time; though relatively weak, these projectiles are often fired in large numbers, and can cause knockback like Skeleton arrows, preventing you from getting close. Even rarer than the Enderman, it is 15 times less likely to spawn than other mobs, even at low light; to compensate, however, it spawns in groups of four to six, swarming players in a manner akin to Silverfish. Like the Enderman but like the Enderdragon, the Enderstare cannot teleport, but it flies quickly enough to make up for it, even able to dodge an arrow fired from a bow with enough distance between itself and the player. It needs its speed because it is weaker than normal hostile mobs, taking only two hits from a stone sword before dying.
So why must you go out and kill these pestilential optical organs? As it turns out, the lens of the Enderstare is in fact the coveted Eye of Ender, so killing these mobs allows you to obtain Eyes of Ender without having to go to the Nether for Blaze Powder. But such ventures are not without their risks. Granted, a lone Enderstare is not very troublesome to a player who's quick, sure-footed, and nimble enough to get past its assault. But a group of them is a true nightmare, capable of spamming their purple projectiles en masse and depleting your health with alarming speed.

Ender Charge
Enderstares drop these when killed. Right clicking while holding an Ender Charge allows you to fire the same purple orbs that the Enderstare fires, with the same effects. You can fire up to four shots before the Charge vanishes. Certainly, these things will more than likely come in handy in future End-related recipes.

It looked like it should be called an end-elemental. Nice idea thoughΒ Β

Are the projectiles that are fired reflectable?

I think of them as being more like Blaze fireballs - you can't reflect 'em, but you can dodge and/or block 'em.

Fantastic idea! I have to ask though. Did you actually implement the enderstare, or did you simply print screened it and then put it into snapshots of you playing Minecraft?

Despite knowing some Java, I opted for the latter method to save time. I have yet to actually program mods for anything, let alone mobs, and I'll need plenty of time away from school and studying to do so.
