Yeah, the V3 eyes look uncanny and creepy, the breasts seem a bit off, and the overall chest and clavicles have a disturbing model to them that make them look almost bony and chitinous, like they have some sort of exoskeleton. Meanwhile, the V1 models actually look more like the actual EqG characters, having almost show accurate eyes, a decently proportioned face for the characters in question, and their hair looks better too, and they even synergize more with their counterpart pony models as well. In all these V3 models are just terrible... for the Mane 7.
Looking at the proportions, I think the weird shapes could actually work in their favor if used for adult characters like Celestia, Luna, or Cadence.

Sindroom's said itself that it's model is not made to make it similar in the series and film, but more like the EQG artist fan-art;
I do not say the opposite but there is still a similarity as it is two images :
