Woo. Thought I'd jump on the bandwagon. Only instead of trying to make people think it was real, I'd just make a simple pic. It's got every character from Melee, all the newcomers from Brawl, a few that everyone want, such as Geno, and then some characters that I want in.And those last 6 words really come into play when you see Darth Vader.
And speaking of him, here's what all the characters are. For you non-Nintendo people who don't have a clue.
First Row:
Mario, Link, Kirby, Pikachu, Fox, Samus Aran, Zelda, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Peach, Ice Climbers
Second Row:
Metaknight, Pit, ZS Samus, Wario, Ike, Pokemon Trainer, Diddy Kong, WW Link, Ganondorf, Paper Mario, Geno, Snake
Third Row:
Marth, G&W, Falco, Captain Falcon, Mewtwo, Roy, Luigi, Ness, Jigglypuff, Dr. Mario, Pichu, Stafy
Fourth Row:
Olimar, Dry Bones, Krystal, Chibi-Robo, King Dedede, Bowser Jr, Ridley, Midna, Megaman, Birdo, Darth Vader, Twinrova
Oh, also. Samus and ZeroSuitSamus are both on there cos they both have pics on the official site. No other reason.

im making a smash bros game on game maker. its got 62 characters so far, and only six are non nintendo characters.
iv posted a list of them on my page.
if you can think of a final non nintendo character for the last row, please tell me. so far there is;

snake

Yeah, Darth Vader was just a joke character. But still, I kinda want him in since I'd love to force choke a Pikachu.
Oh, and Dry Bones is in it because he seems to be in everything nowadays. I'll guarantee you that in some shape or form, Dry Bones WILL be in this game. xD
And gawd, Sakurai updates the site with an official Snake pic the day AFTER I post this? ><

This wins for having Geno, Wind-Link, Krystal, Bowser Jr., Ridley!
...But fails for using Dry Bones (I mean, c'mon, WTF!), Pichu, and Vader (movie char, not game char).
...And its lack of Sora and Lucas. And Lucario.
But it's still great!

You should also bear in mind that some of these might instead be assist trophies, like Dedede, Olimar and Krystal could be.
