Description This is one of the few hi res things I have made recently. Wanted to practice rendering in Mental ray and setting up SSS shaders and displacements. I would like to turn this guy into a full character someday.

Modeled in Maya/Zbrush
Textured with Photoshop
Rendered in Mental Ray

When you make the full body I will return , its looking good so far. How is texturing uvs in Photoshop .doesn't it feel weird ?I'm just starting with that part and I was just wondering how you find the right places to put the detail on.

You get used to doing flat textures with time. At first I was doing a lot of back and forth between Photosho and Maya testing out my textures to make sure everything was in the right place, but after a while, especially if you are laying out your own uvs, you will just know where everything goes.
