For my bestest bud:The awkward bumps on the front are from the stilt used when firing. And the most popular question I get about this ocarina is: Does it really work?!?! Yes, it does.
Sorry for the crappy reflections on the ocarina. I forgot to build a better light diffusion box before my friend came over to pick it up at my house.

Nah, the mouth piece is fine. It's just more likely to break. That's why I do 5-hole pendants.

If you make another one I recommend shortening the mouthpiece by half the length. It'll make it easier to play.

I did notice that the mouthpiece was ridiculously long. I've made a few since then and have shortened the mouthpiece. Thank you for the suggestion.

Just doing my job. The wooden one looks good! I've been experimenting with the mouthpieces as well. I've been able to get it less than an inch long and still function. It's really tricky though.

I know what you mean. Luckily, I'm a senior this year and have free reign over most of my artwork. What a coincidence, I just accidentally finished a pseudo-lefty! I accidentally cut the voicing on the wrong side.

I am tuning a 10-hole ocarina now that goes from a low B flat to an E flat that is one octave higher. I haven't been making them for very long and this is the first one I've tuned with a chromatic tuner.

I know. I couldn't think of a way to get the triforce in metal on the mouthpiece. I also didn't want to mess with it since I didn't even think this ocarina would work out.

You should just get gold metallic paint, and paint a ring around it, then do a triforce with slightly darker gold. Hope this helps!
