That was just beautifull... I really could imagine the scene like that.
Especially that You assumption about Celestia's age fit mine. Well in mine Celestia is about 250 years younger... at the poin what the show take's place, and this comic could be like about 250 years after that, so still close enough^^
But I don't get why You said about Twilight, Celestia and Luna as "Demigoddess". They "just" alicorns. Sure alicorns are long living(thousands years, maybe even more, maybe even never die becaosue of age... but that's we don't know and I don't think they are really immortal or even ageless) and exrtremelly powerfull... but that's still to less to call them goddess. Or even Demigoddes.
Also it seems weird to me, that Twilight already have her flowing mane but don't have alicorn figure (like Cadance does, and she doesn't have flowing mane yet) ...or even wings.
But excluding this that totally could happen I think... well maybe not so much in my vision of Equestria future, especially, that Twilight will have one friend, who will live so long too (yes, I mean Sunset Shimmer as alicorn).
And nice idea with being in charge of stars.

This comic has nothing to do with Twilight becoming an Alicorn, but rather realizing the full potential of her magical ability - which in this comic is joining the two Sister's as immortal sky goddesses. And I've always liked the Sisters as goddesses; I think you're being too stringent with your definitions. Who but a god can raise the sun and the moon? Demigods, in greek mythology at least, were LESS powerful than the Alicorns are. They were strong, beautiful and favored by the gods --- Celestia raises.the sun every day, like Helios. Also it's just fanart, try not to take it so seriously

And well actually the very idea of "demigods" is big misunderstanding the meining of god. It's like You'd try to have a half of infinity. But there isn't such a thing like half of infinity, infinity divided by two is still infinity. (Yeah I think that "gods" in greek mythology aren't worth that word. Rather just idols(well that maybe isn't correct word too, but I don't know how else I could hightlight the difference between Polish words "bóg" and "bożek")).
What more even if we would consider this whole demigods as less powerfull than alicorns, and assume that alicorns are immortal(well rather not very likely I think, but also impossible to fully exclude... but still rather in meaning as "never will die naturally" than "is impossible to kill")... they still DON'T have a very significant god's trait. Worship.
Any gods (or even "not full gods", like mentioned demigods) are worshiped as such in one way or another. They have their temples, place of cult, believers pray to them and give them some sacrifices...
But Celestia and Luna have NEVER been worshiped in any way. Sure think they were immensely respected(and loved), but as the princesses - the rulers, monarchs and protectors of their ponies. Nothing less nothing more.
Therefore reffering to them as goddess or something of that kind always bothers me at least a little. Well the fact that there is just one God doesn't help to accept such ideas, but still my point is that they were never depicted as something of divine status.
As for Twilight... how could she achieve level of power at least similar to alicorn? Considering this what we got in series it's impossible, difference in power is just too big.
You can think that's taking this all too serious... but well I just love to get deeper into fictional universe, to better understand and discover their rules... MLP isn't exception here, what more it's very good for that.
And as some brony on Youtube once said "Overanalyzing is magic".
Don't take me wrong I still really like this comic, but just... there are some things in it about which I just couldn't not wondering.

I'm a little confused. Love the piece by the way. But I get Twilight is an immortal sky goddess, but not an alicorn? I've seen the publication date, and I thought by that point, the alicorn Twilight rumors had begun. Maybe I'm going crazy though.

Relax, there is nothing to worry, this will not happen, as a friend he read by Twitter of some of the people who work in the series (including Meghan McCarthy) have said very clearly that no immortality it will go into Twilight and she will never leave her friends.

I wrote this before she became an Alicorn. I asked myself if I wanted Immortal Sky-Goddess Twilight to be an alicorn or not and decided she could still be a unicorn. She's Twilight Sparkle after all.
