Description
This is a rather quick painting I did of a few symbolic items; flowers and a moth.

In English class we are currently reading "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde, and as an assignment, I decided to draw a picture related to the first 5 chapters.

The Symbolism:
The calla represents beauty, in thi case, the kind of forbidden admiration which exist betwen the male lead characters.
The forget-me-nots represent unhappy love, as it during the time the story takes place, the portrayed love is forbidden.
The leaf represents growth. This is as the feelings described in the book grows for each chapter.
The moth is a symbol for the soul's search for truth, but also the fact that nothing remains forever. This, is too closely related to the above.
The black background symbolizes sadness and death.
The dewdrops are just there to finish off the composition, but I guess oe could see them as tears xD;;
