I like it.
There is just something I don't really like on your cosmic encounter illustration. They almost all have "common" organs such as two eyes, mouth, arms...
I think I prefer aliens that really looks life something we've never seen.
Ryan Barger illustration are beautiful and I like them better about that, but on the other hands, they look more "neutral", with less emotions emanating from his aliens.
However, I think it's logical because it's difficult to catch emotions on a creature which doesn't have the specific "organs" we all know and use them in communications.
So, I like them both in their way.
Yours for the funny and colorfull aliens, ryan's for the "classical" and very weird-looking aliens.
And sorry for my english !
