For the Oasis group contest ^.^Name: Felina_Lain
Species: Elf
Career: Mercenary
Up to the Challenge: You bet!
Texture Pack: Ovo rustic
So after a bit of thinking, I decided to go for a house built in what you might call the 'Hobbit' style.
Dug into the side of a hill, I chose that spot because I found a cow spawner and a sheep spawner on either side. Supply right at hand.
Then it was a matter of digging into the hill a series of tunnel and room. My own bedroom, a kitchen, a storeroom, and a crafting room.
I had to cut lots of woods to make some painting to hang on the walls, and I also spend lot of time gathering flowers to re-set them all around the house.
To get light I dug up some one-block tunnel to the top and set a glass block on each to stop monsters from getting in.
On the side, a field, once again, supply right at hand. And on the left of said field, a corral, dug into the earth, much easier to bring animals into and keep them trapped in... (some even are kind enough to jump in the corral on their own XD)
On the right, the start of a mine, to gather ore of all kind... I already got a nice streak of iron....

Someone went to see the Hobbit recent from the sounds of that ... admitted I had too and though it was astounding and awesome ... it could of been better (hint there).
Ahem.
Since I am going to guess there is limited room from what was said on the contest page, that is a good method and technique to conserve space and of course to keep from those horrible monsters that come out in the night. The flowers add colour since the dirt construction really ... kinda dulls it in truth but no matter!
I bet the interior is much more eye catching.
Though I've already cast a vote, in a sense, I do hope you do good too!

Oh nice textures! So smooth and bright, it does seem to complement the chosen technique to build the home in the side of the mountain near the animal spawners. I'd of done the same; almost did but I noticed that come the night a lot of the monsters spawn on the more flattened areas and caverns count too, so the choice was made to build on the flat top of a hill and gain as much elevation from the ground as possible.
Those roses are astounding though - and mixed together with the yellow near the farmground does prove that the home serves equally as a safe practical haven hand in hand with looking beautiful. I wonder what the interior is like :3
