My pirate Javine character called Dutch Abyssi on the Flying Dutchman from Pirates of the Caribbean
(Javines are something like Oriental Cat - Cheetah hybrids). Dutchy is inspired by Davy Jones from PotC . I just had drawn him on the front of his ship, the Flying Dutchman. I was a bit addicted to Pirates of the Caribbean at that time...I have used a screenshot of the Flying Dutchman, appearing in PotC2

I still don't get it why the captain of te Dutchman is not Willem Decker but Davy Jones and why this man has a Scottish accent. The directors should have studied the actual legend somewhat better...

Hm Yeah I think they just took fragments of legends and put it all together in some new story. But yeah it would have been interesting if they sticked more to the original legend. I understood in the Efteling that it was Willem van der Decken XD

Haha ja, k kom uit Nederland, ben alleen vijf jaar geleden naar het hoge Noorden verkast XD Maar ja, heb zelfs een keer een vriendin uit America mee naar de Efteling gesleept.

Ja, ben ook nog nooit in Amerika geweest, maar t staat hoog op mn to-visit-list. Haha ja, ik ken dr best veel en ook best veel hele goede artists. En zoals bij mij, is het niet altijd even obvious gezien ik in Noorwegen woon.
