Finally some more serious artwork.
This is the siderian (a big horse-sized, Northern feline) named Yava – see her referencesheet and story here:

She was first seen by - who still has the closest bond with her.
However, I'm growing quite close to Yava as well and may pick her as the leading point-of-view character the novel series that I'm writing (very slowly though...)

Recently, I have spent quite some time with Yava, her mate Falkner and their kids. As I thought about her, I realized just how wise she is and how deeply she is connected to the Earth, living beings and the Spiritual realm. She has the wisdom of a wild being and the spiritual heritage of the dynasty that she has been born in. RiverRaven and me often see her in boreal forest-like settings with streams and or/waterfalls and I wanted to draw her ‘in her element’.

The drawing itself was a bit of painting-experiment; although I’m not so comfortable with forest settings and the colours/lightings were a bit extreme. I think that I still have a lot more to learn and experiment with my brushwork and composition, especially in such dense environments. Any suggestions for improvement regarding the composition, brushwork and maybe the colours/light are welcome.
