Side view of the faerie wings. Very light weight, though they are a little unwieldy in crowded places. Stupid lady ran into me and didn't even apologize. I wanted to hit her. Bizzitch.Related content

I love these wings!! If you don't mind me popping in out of the random dA void and asking, where did you buy your feathers? I'm needing a good place to get some for a wing project I've been toying with for some time. (not fully peacock...but sort of crow/faerie combination...mostly feathered with a bit of cellophane here and there.)
Bah! I digress. These are beautifully put together!

I bought my feathers largely from ostrich.com They have a HUGE selection of various feathered things and the like. Good luck on your project! And thank you!

The base of the wings was a panel of bent aluminum. Glued the feathers to the flaps and then covered the center with the same leather of the top so that it wouldn't stand out. Because of the aluminum, they flap slightly when I move my shoulders.

That is SO cool! So, did you attatch the aluminum base to the vest, or some other way? *curious*

I wrapped the aluminum base with more of the leather from the vest and snapped the two together.
