"Whoa!"

The black earth pony that had casually been floating along a few inches above the floor found himself pinned against the wall of a nearby building, by a very serious looking purple unicorn mare.

He held up his booted hooves in submission, fixing his glowing green eyes on her purple ones. Twilight Sparkle blinked at the unusual feature for a moment, before frowning down at the gap between the stranger's hooves and the floor.

She Stared back up into his face.

"You have got to tell me how you're floating! Earth ponies can't use magic. Where's your unicorn friend?"

"Huh? What? Uh, I don't know what you're on about miss....?"

"Twilight Sparkle. And you are?"

"Uh... Can you back off? I don't much like being reared at so aggressively, you know..."

"I'm not being aggressive! ... Oh." Twilight dropped to all four hooves, and the stranger did the same, only this time he put all his feet on the floor. "Sorry... I was just curious what spell you're using so I can study it."

"Ah... I'm not using a spell."

"Really." It wasn't a question, Twilight looked skeptical. "Then what are you using? Strings and puppetry?" She laughed and looked around. "Pinkie Pie?! Is this your doing?!"

"Is what my doing, Twilight?" The pink earth pony seemed to appear out of nowhere, as usual, in response to her name being called.

"This earth pony says he's not using a spell to float, I thought you were using one of your wierd inventions to trick me..."

"... What earth pony?" Pinkie stretched her neck to see past Twilight's shoulder. "Twilight, you been reading too much again? There's no one there! Oooo! Were you talking to your shadow? I talked to my shadow once and we had the best conversation about flour and-"

Twilight Sparkle found herself tuning out what Pinkie Pie had started rambling about, looking up and down the street for the strange pony.

Her ear twitched as she realised he'd just seemed to vanish into thin air.

Edit: as I'm getting a few questions about it, the ficlet above is just written for this picture, there isn't any more to it ^_^; I have other fanfics to write, we'll see how much time I have when they're done if I write anything else for this. Thanks!
