Description This is my second watercolor (11" x 17"). I tried to pick a subject that I thought would let me concentrate more on textures and technique. I referenced a photo I took in Amish country, Pennsylvania, of this lovely sheep. I learned that the color "white" does not work the same way in watercolor as in oil or acrylic! I initially tried to use the white to lighten up areas of the wool that I overworked, but it just picked up the color underneath and looked muddy. I ended up using water, a brush and towel to lift as much color off the paper as I could. Even though I made a lot of mistakes, I'm still pretty happy with my sheep

Thought it was a photo at first glance! I like how you captured its roundness
