I'm a great intusiast of pixel art, is a very difficult art and demands a lot of patience. As a great fan of classic games, i've decided to do some HD sprites for Streets of Rage, it's in the early stages. I'm learning game maker also, maybe in the future i can make a HD version? I've seen these posted elsewhere like I mentioned, and as good as they were then, somehow they look even better seeing them as posted by the actual creator.
You got them to look just like the originals even with so much more detail added (since the original sprites were very small, not very detailed compared to the other two games).

I still remember this game until now, though I played SOR2. That's one of the first Sega Genesis game that I had. Even till now, I loved that Stadium stage bg, because it's so groovy.

Actually this was to be a SOR HD project I was doing in GameMaker, I even done some sets. But I did have to close it because as I work as freelancer illustrator, i don't have time even to scratch myself the se last years. I'm learning Zbrush on the free times, and maybe someday I do another HD version of these characters. This old style way is too difficult because I would have to draw frame by frame.

If only they would actually make a remake of the game.
The indie project is pretty good though. Maybe that will one day make its way to XBLA or PSN
