Light.

Dark.

Cold.

Warmth.

Love.

Passion.

Vengeance.

Zeal…

In a world, separate from our epoc, but in its twilight years… great primordial serpents roamed the skies. Light and warmth became scarce and coveted in this plane; the great fiery stars were dying out and the serpents hurdled around any of these last stars they could find for life.

And as the stars died, so did the serpents…

Two of these mighty beast, Ragnu the old crestfallen, and Ferditi the ashen, shared in a tender affection among the darkness. Then, Ragnu's brother, Jedavi the passionate, became jealous of their love. He caught Ragnu and devoured him, seeking to claim Ferditi for himself. Enraged, Ferditi only fought Jedavi, unwilling to submit to him.

Biting and competing to strangle one another, they exhausted what was left of space and time…

And both primordial serpents killed each other, their battle collapsing the last of their universe.

But the ashes of Ragnu, Ferditi, and Jedavi, were broken and consumed and scattered in colorful clouds in the aether between worlds. These clouds coalesced into small clusters, gathering the boundaries of space around them.

These became the first Kaobryn eggs...

All Kaobryn have parts of Ragnu, Ferditi, and Jedavi in their memories, and with these memories, so also their natures.

Though all Kaobryn understand where they come from, each may have different view of where they are going…

I am lady Dangri Iyr, an agent of the Protectorate Inquiry, an organization in the province of Waywyrm for uncovering secrets, upholding criminal justice, and seeking truth for the prosperity of others.

I'm friends with a Kaobryn in our numbers, Gyrahki. He was once a lost troublemaker in town trying to find his way, until apprenticed to the carpenter, Gyli Brecedar, who took him under his wing and raised him, part of his civic duty.

Gyrahki upholds our values, and moreso now, he is intent on making himself useful in the world with his insight and his powers.

True, he has hardly seen much of his share of our world outside of Waywyrm, and he has a lot to learn yet about people, the world in its entirety, and its wonders.

But as I've seen, he's well equipped with everything he needs to survive…and to help us… in our own history's dire need…
