This is a wonderful sunset that I saw this evening, Jan 7, 2012 in Gettysburg Battlefield. I am looking west from Millerstown Rd, near the Peach Orchard, towards the 75 ft Longstreet Observation tower, on Seminary Ridge. The tower was built in 1895, overlooking the battlefield from its southern edge.

What a colorful sight! My travel companion Toni remarked that all the colors of the spectrum were visible, and I agree!

I am told that each day has a gift, we only need to find it... This was the gift of the day! We had one other fleeting gift too, a red fox cometed across the road before us just a little later! (I consider his fleeting visit a privilege, and a harbinger of good luck! )

O Yes, BTW, other than resizing for a web image, no form of color or contrast altering work was done to this image... it is very much as seen!
