Thank you! I love snakes too and I'd have more if my mother wasn't half-crazed by the fact that I own two right now. ^^

Thank you, I'm glad you like this one. Yeah, she's one of my babies. People don't understand how I can love snakes, but it just comes naturally. I just like 'em, a lot. They are so unlike us and so interesting, I can't understand why people -wouldn't- like 'em. Heheh. Thanks for the fave on this! I appreciate it!

I feel the EXACT same way about snakes. I think part of the problem is that snakes have been portrayed horribly by humans in literature and movies and shows, so people are too afraid to try to get to know them for real. I hate the stereotypes and rumors and myths, like hoopsnakes bite their tails and roll after you, or that fourty foot anacondas stalk humans and eat them. There is no way that a snake would be able to grow fourty feet or more and go on land, it would have to live in the water for its entire life or it would crush itself, much like what happens to beached whales. I mean, think about it, a full grown burmese python an grow to 25 feet and weigh over 200 pounds! Big snakes kinda just sit there, and are incredibly calm.
This will sound out of character but I want a burmese python when I get more experience caring for snakes. Normally cause of the weight I would never consider it, but my husband is like superman so he can carry him/her to the vet for me. For a five foot tall man he's pretty damn buff.

Burmese pythons are a tad food aggressive so just be wary of that. ALWAYS wash your hands and arms after handling their food before touching them, they WILL bite you. And a large snake with big teeth and strong muscles can kill in moments. I've been bitten by a three foot long Burmese and it hurt like hell and it cut off the circulation to my arm in moments. I wasn't even bleeding from the bite after a little while.
Just a fair warning to you. I'm sure you're buff husband can carry it's ridiculous weight. Heheh. Just keep Jenny away from the cage. o.o
Stereotypes are horrible especially with snakes. They aren't slimy, and they aren't going to eat your soul or your head. I think the most horribly spread one is hollywood's lovely persona of them and, I hate to say it, but the serpent in the bible that coaxed Eve to do which was forbidden. I'm not a believer of the big book, but I think that definitely spread a lot of taboo of snakes and how they are inherently evil.

I've heard a ton of stories about burms and their slight aggressiveness, but I didn't know about the food thing, thank you. It's my belief that when putting food in a cage or taking it out, a long with adding or removing the snake from the cage, you should use a snake hook to avoid being bitten. I think they're pretty calm though compared to most large snakes. Green anacondas too as long as you don't put water on them. I don't want an anaconda for a pet though, they have very, very nasty bites.
I plan to keep my snakes in a room with the door shut, because i want cats and dogs and I don't want them jumping on or barking at the cage and stressing them out.

Thank you. And thanks for the fave on this one and the other shot. I do consider myself lucky. These kinds of colors aren't sold in pet stores and they were twenty bucks for the both of them. And they are so well tempered. It's so nice.

Might be a Burmese. That's the most common python that most people get.

Hahah, yeah, I'm on the site right now, getting some attention from my snake photos. *glee* My mother hates my snakes but she tolerates them 'cause she knows I love them. If they're out of their cages she locks herself in her room. It's quite funny. She tries to forget that they kill and eat live mice whole. Heheh.
