That is so neat! I'm not a big glitter person, but it works really well with this. And how did you manage to get to those parts? I never figured out how to open up watch cases. I've got a neat watch that doesn't work, so I was thinking of discecting it.

Thank you! I just opened it with a really small screwdriver.

Oh my! 8D Thank you so much!
Yeah, I found a couple of watches in my grandpa's boxes of old crap. I think they were from the 50s or so. But they were mechanical watches. What type did you have?

Then it was an electronic watch. As far as I know, they don't have cogs and stuff.

well yeah, but they were face watches, with the hands and shit. soooo i was hopeful there would be something to use. but i love the faces and had my dad drill holes in the tops of them so i can use them like pendants. so not all was lost.

Mine had faces and hands too. (That almost sounds like a living creature! lol)
Did you use a regular drilling machine for that? (Can I call it that?)

yeah, just a basic electric drill with a really skinny drill bit, so that it made a small hole and not some giant overwhelming one. my dad has pretty much every tool in our garage or in easy access to him...which makes him very handy to me.

This is cool! the beads around the border must have taken alot of skill! how do you get the little cogs and gears out of the watch and keep them all in tackt? that seems like a challange.

Thanks! Yeah, the beads took me a while. As for the watch parts, I just used a very small screwdriver to get them out. It was my first time, too. But it's easy if you try!
