Ho boy. This video man. This is a testament to how something so awesome can be ruined by pressure.

The Musician is Tv's Kyle and he's great. You seriously should be checking him out. Like. All the time. Even in his house. Just go stare at him.

This was made during a time when I was just starting my terrible little cartoon show, Burt the Merc (you can check my gallery, but seriously it's nothing special). I remember 2007 like it was four years ago. I was a bright eyed, bushy-tailed little kid with hopes and dreams. I knew I was hot stuff, and was going to set the world on fire!

Then I uploaded my first toon. And oh boy. It was awful. But I kept working. I swore I would never let anything that bad escape my eyes again. I swore everything I released would be perfect! Better than perfect! IT WOULD MAKE GOD HIMSELF CRY. And then that's when animation became less about fun, and more about perfection. I have five episodes of Burt, some of which are nearly complete, that will never see the light of day, because it just lost all the fun. I got overwhelmed. And then I just stopped.

I don't know where this is going, but I felt like it was important. For while I may not be skilled at any one thing yet to make a tutorial, I figured I'd share some of my pitfalls.

In short, have fun with animation. If you really love it, you'll keep trying to get better, sure, but don't let it get in the way of JUST FINISHING SOMETHING. This was an honor at first. I was really happy to do something for a hero of mine. But I found a way to suck out the fun, and it led to a few years of misery. ut hey, live and learn right? Maybe I'll return to animation, but I've got some things to work on first.
